I have always loved Babar ever since I was little. I loved it from the time my mum bought me little figurines in the same style as the smurf ones, when she came back from France. I think I was about 6 or 7. The story of Babar is really quite horrific - Babar flees the jungle after he witnesses his mother being slain.

When I was in Paris in my 20s I bought the 'Babar en avion' poster and soft toy. I framed the poster for my son Mackenzie a couple of years later when he was born. The poster is still up in his room and Tallulah still takes Babar to sleep occasionally and I find her asleep with Babar's jacket on.

This Babar rocker is made of wood and is appropriate for children +24 months. Unique to Papier d'Amour and imported from France it is a fantastic godmother or grandma gift. We have one in our store in Double Bay for children to play on and it is loved by all. The Babar rocker comes flat packed but is very simple to assemble.
