Ok let me explain the difference in the leathers!
To start with the patent leather is basically a leather that has been coated with a high gloss finish, so that it has exceptional shine. It always reminds me of my yearning as a child for thos shiny black shoes.
Shagreen is one of my favourite leather finishes and mimicks the skin of stingrays and sharks.
Nubuck is a type of leather with a soft, velvety surface and is similar to suede in feel and appearance. It differs in that suede is created from the inner side of a hide, whereas nubuck is created from the outer side of a hide, giving it more strength and thickness along with a fine grain and it lasts alot longer.
Then we have the traditional black which is deer leather which is amazingly soft.
Forget about the technical stuff. This warmer palette are so very very chic!
When I ordered these diaries my lovely manufacturer said in her Southern American accent "Your colours choices this year are spot on Phoebe". Apparently me and the sassy New York department stores have the same taste! Well what do you know!
